Chorus Syllabus

Objectives:

  1. To provide the student with the required techniques and aesthetical skills required to sing in an academic ensemble.
  2. To expose the student to a diverse repertoire of choral literature that makes the student aware of different cultures.
  • To provide students with various performing opportunities that give the students opportunities to demonstrate mastery of rehearsed repertoire.
  1. To help students become proficient sight-singers.
  2. To help students appreciate the aesthetic value of music, that which cannot be measured.

Materials:

  1. Any assigned music (each day)
  2. Pencil, not pen, (each day)
  3. Any assigned written work (each day)
  4. Performance attire (as needed)
  5. Charged Chrome book (each day)

 

Grading Policy:

  1. Weekly singing quizzes: 25%
  2. Weekly written work: 25%
  3. Participation: 25%
  4. Performances: 25%

Attendance Policy:

Daily attendance is mandatory and will be graded and attendance taken (30-45 min. constitutes a full class attendance.)

 

 

Office Hours:

Each Day during 2nd block time and from 3:30-4:00 p.m.

 

Attire:

When students are physically back in the building, a choir uniform will be required.
